Spring, Texas – A Klein Oak High School student is in critical condition after ‘hood surfing’ in the parking lot of a neighboring school, officials said.

The incident unfolded in the parking lot of Hildebrandt Intermediate School in the 22800 block of Hildebrandt Road, which is next door to Klein Oak High School.

Officials say that the 17-year-old student was riding on the hood of a vehicle that was being driven by another KOHS student.

The driver suddenly hit the brakes, causing the victim to fall onto the concrete.

According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzales,  the male student sustained a serious head injury.

The Klein ISD student was transported to the Texas Medical Center via Life Flight in critical condition.

It is unknown if the driver of the vehicle will face charges.
